Understanding Vegan Cosmetics: What Does It Mean?
Discover how the term "vegan" is applied to our product ranges.
The era of "everything organic" has quickly been surpassed in recent years by the rise of "everything vegan." This shift is driven by our growing awareness of environmental issues and the urgency to change habits for the sake of our planet, ecosystem, and health. It also highlights the importance of protecting animals.
Veganism extends not only to our eating habits but also to our everyday consumption, including cosmetics. "Vegan" means that absolutely no ingredients or derivatives from animal sources have been used in formulating the cosmetic product. Additionally, the product must not have been tested on animals (note: the European Union banned animal testing in the cosmetics industry in 2013).
When these conditions are met, the product can be considered vegan and sold as such. However, be wary of the term being misused for marketing purposes, where products may falsely claim to be vegan without adhering to the rules. To avoid disappointment with cosmetics and skincare products, rely on labels often found on these items. There are twelve certified "vegan" labels from regulated associations. All products in our PHYTO 5 natural and holistic cosmetics range are certified vegan. This includes our 100% BIO Ageless La Cure range, certified by the Ecocert label.
Our products do not contain ingredients like beeswax, honey, royal jelly, animal collagen, milk, or keratin for shampoos. We use natural and plant-based ingredients for all our beauty and skincare product lines.
For over forty years, our Swiss expertise has led us to formulate holistic skincare treatments beneficial for the skin, body, and mind while respecting the environment we cherish.
